This not only applies to content creation but also to the distribution channels. For example, younger audiences (Gen Z) tend to respond to videos on channels such as TikTok and Instagram, as well as YouTube. 

Older audience segments may be more drawn to written words with beautiful or appropriate imagery, on channels such as LinkedIn or Instagram/Facebook. 

Age groups respond quite differently to digital content, and for that reason, age should be taken into consideration when creating a strategy around the creation of content and planning its distribution.

While your psychographic profiling should already be considered and infused in your content marketing and branding guidelines, consider this technique a little “psychographic QA” process to look over your content one more time before it goes out, and ask yourself, “Would [audience avatar] feel heard when they read/see this?”

If you have a QA team member doing this, have them ask themselves this very question. If it’s you doing it, ask yourself this question. Or, create an AI team member through Claude (via their “Projects” feature), name it “Psychographic Profiling QA,” and filter language through it before publishing to double-check that you’re keeping your content as branded and cohesive as possible!
