Leverage AI, Deliver Human Authenticity

At our agency, we leverage AI to kickstart our creative process, but we ensure that every piece of content we deliver for our clients is authentically human and unmistakably their own.

Look, AI is great for sparking creativity and even drafting content. It can be a lifesaver when you’re staring at a blank page. But here’s the thing: your brand is one-of-a-kind, and your content needs to reflect that uniqueness that makes you, well, you.

People are craving authenticity and connection more than ever. They can smell AI-generated content from a mile away, no matter how well you’ve trained it to mimic your voice. The brands that are winning right now are the ones that keep it real and human.

Think about it. When you’re scrolling through your feed, what catches your eye?

7 Key Tips for Authenticity in Digital Marketing With AI and Human Content

It’s the content that tells a story, that makes you feel something. It’s the posts that respond to what’s happening in their industry/world right now, with a unique perspective. It’s the brands that show their personality.

That’s the kind of content AI just can’t replicate. It can’t share your real experiences or infuse your content with the values that drive your brand. It can’t read the room and adjust its tone on the fly like a human can.

So here’s what I suggest: use AI as a tool in your toolkit. Let it help you with research, outlines, and initial ideas. But then hand it over to your human team to work their magic. Let them take those AI-generated building blocks and craft them into something that truly represents your brand.

Remember, your audience isn’t just looking for information—they’re looking for a connection with your brand. By keeping that human touch front and center in your content creation, you’ll create that connection and stand out in the crowded digital space.

In the end, it’s about finding that sweet spot where AI boosts your efficiency, but humans ensure your content stays authentic and relatable.

Optimize SEO, Craft Creative Narratives

A strategy we implement at our company is to employ AI for back-end processes like SEO optimization and content structuring, while keeping the creative aspects human-driven. This means leveraging AI to suggest keywords, optimize meta tags, and structure articles in a way that’s friendly to search engines and readers.

However, the core narrative, examples, analogies, and calls-to-action are crafted by our human content creators, who bring authenticity and creativity that AI cannot match. This approach ensures our content is both optimized for performance and genuinely engaging for our readers, maintaining a perfect balance between efficiency and authenticity.

Curate AI Content With Human Insight

One crucial tip for balancing AI-generated content with human-authored content is to maintain a “human-as-curator” approach. This strategy ensures authenticity while leveraging AI’s capabilities:

  1. Position yourself as the strategic mind behind the content.
  2. Use AI as a tool for ideation and initial drafting, not as a replacement for human insight.
  3. Infuse the content with your unique perspective and research.

The key is to remember that you are the brain, and AI is the machine. In practice, this means:

  • Conducting thorough research yourself and feeding that information into the AI.
  • Using AI to generate ideas, but critically evaluating and selecting the most relevant ones.
  • Consistently revising AI outputs to align with your voice and expertise.
  • Heavily editing and formatting each piece to reflect your unique style and insights.
5 Key Insights into the Risks of Using AI-Generated Content in Digital Marketing

This approach allows you to harness AI’s efficiency while ensuring the final product authentically represents your brand and expertise. It’s not about choosing between AI and human content, but rather about skillfully blending the two, with human judgment always in the driver’s seat.

By maintaining this balance, you create content that benefits from AI’s capabilities without sacrificing the authenticity and nuanced understanding that only human expertise can provide.

Add Human Touch to AI Content

In order to make your AI-generated content sound more human-like, you always have to make sure you go through the content to see how it sounds to you from a reader’s perspective. The most common mistakes AI-generated content makes are that it can be emotionless or feel like it’s written by bots. Try to add humor or jokes to which your targeted audience can relate.

Infuse Personality Into AI-Generated Ideas

Use AI to generate ideas and integrate keywords efficiently, which can save significant time in content creation. However, it’s crucial to involve human input to infuse personality, emotion, and genuine interaction into the content. A skilled copywriter knows the audience well and understands the subtle nuances that should permeate the text, ensuring consistency and authenticity from one piece of content to the next.

Blend AI Efficiency With Human Refinement

I think one crucial tip for balancing AI-generated content with human-authored content is to use AI for efficiency but always have a human touch for authenticity. AI can handle repetitive tasks and generate initial drafts, but I believe it’s essential for humans to refine and personalize the content. This ensures the tone, nuances, and emotions resonate with your audience.

In my opinion, blending the strengths of both allows for consistent and engaging content that feels genuine. Humans can inject creativity, context, and cultural relevance, making the final output more relatable and authentic.

Eliminate Overused Phrases for Originality

Start flagging overused words and replacing them with alternatives. The best method that works wonders for me is eliminating overused words, common phrases, and two-word phrases from my content.

  • Start flagging overused words such as “unlock,” “revolutionize,” “embark,” “unleash,” “landscape,” etc.
  • Avoid phrases such as “in the realm of,” “by harnessing the power,” “unlocking the power,” etc.
  • Eliminate two-word phrases like “in conclusion,” “in essence,” “remarkable breakthrough,” “innovative service,” “exciting possibilities,” etc.

You’ll find more words if you research; I’ve only provided a few examples to give you a head start.
